Information for Colleges and Universities
Colleges and universities can use Plaut Pedagogy’s tools to deeply engage students in solving mathematical problems, which is the most important learning objective of any math course. The currently available materials are most suited to a first course in linear algebra, with a broad range of possible learning objectives. The textbook Interactive Linear Algebra is ready to pre-order for Fall 2026.
A few key points:
The software is easy to use and self-contained.
Plaut Pedagogy’s tools are flexible—courses for math majors and minors may place higher emphasis on proofs due to the completely rigorous treatment of the text.
Courses oriented towards engineers may focus on the mathematical processes and applications with light attention to proofs.
The textbook includes topics such as Singular Value Decompolition that can be difficult to cover with a more traditional approach.
Some proofs are motivated by the Immersive Exercises.
The Interactive Linear Algebra e-book will link directly to the associated MathMentorApp website for ease of use.
Students will purchase a reasonably priced license to use the software.
Plaut Pedagogy’s upcoming project will produce materials for Calculus I.
Low-cost e-books for other courses, such as real analysis, topology and an introductory course about proofs, will be available for use in May 2026.

“I like how I was able to understand the basics in MathMentor[App] and be more confident in my ability ... A concrete understanding of the basics (even if they are simple) makes more complicated questions not as complicated.”
“The Pearson [textbook] has you do all the computation, while MathMentor[App] focuses on showing the steps.”
